Division 40: Society for Clinical Neuropsychology

ABOUT The Society for Clinical Neuropsychology (SCN), Division 40 of the American Psychological Association, is a scientific and professional organization of psychologists interested in the study of brain-behavior relationships, and the clinical application of that knowledge to human problems. ?SCN promotes the use of scientific research to develop its knowledge base and clinical techniques. It is active in the development and promotion of standards of professional training and practice. Neuropsychology is one of the fastest growing specialty areas in psychology. In the last decade, neuropsychological research and practice have increased at a tremendous pace. Today, the Society for Clinical Neuropsychology has over 4,000 national and international members and affiliates. This officially makes or organization the largest of the over fifty specialty divisions of the American Psychological Association. In 2017, SCN was proud to endorse the first-ever neuropsychologist APA president, Dr. Antonio Puente. As an organization SCN looks forward to continuing to build on the rich history and traditions of our specialty. However, at the same time we anticipate growth in new directions.
