Description
**The Edmonton Arts Council (EAC) supports, promotes and inspires the arts in our city**
Through ever-growing investment in artists, organizations, festivals and the greater arts community, the EAC raises the profile of Edmonton arts and culture, and brings the arts to everyday life.
With funding from the City of Edmonton and other partners, we’re reshaping the already dynamic cultural and artistic landscape of Edmonton, to reflect our diverse and always changing city and people.
Every project and partnership is an opportunity to strengthen our community, and activate the arts in new, unexpected ways throughout the city. The Edmonton Arts Council welcomes the contributions of artists from multiple communities, backgrounds and traditions, serving as a springboard for emerging and established artists alike – while showcasing the endless variety and value of art in Edmonton.
**Land Acknowledgement**
The Edmonton Arts Council acknowledges the traditional land on which Edmonton/Amiskwacîwâskahikan sits, the Territory of the Treaty 6 First Nations and the homelands of the Métis people.
We renew our commitment to continuing our collective journey toward the ideals of peace, friendship, and understanding at the core of the Treaty agreement. We would like to recognize and thank the diverse Indigenous peoples whose ancestors’ footsteps have marked this territory for centuries such as: Nehiyawak/Cree, Dene Suliné, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, Niitsitapi/Blackfoot, as well as the Métis and the Inuk/Inuit peoples.
