Daniel Onofrei

I obtained my bachelor in mathematics in Romania, at University Al. I. Cuza Iasi, the continued with my PhD at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, USA, followed by two postdoctoral experiences , first in the Mathematics Department at Rutgers University and then in the Mathematics Department at the University of Utah. Since 2011 I am a faculty in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston and since 2016 I also have a joint position in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston. In 2017 I obtained my tenure and become Associate Professor. I have published more than 40 peer reviewed publications and have held over 10 important keynote presentations. My research interest are in applied inverse problems with a focus on inverse source problems and control of electromagnetic and acoustic fields, multi-scale analysis for material science, optimization and data science.
