Biography
Dr. Michael Gallo Jr. serves as the Director of Research Development for the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University, where he works to support the granting activities of new and established faculty members, facilitate the development of interdisciplinary collaborative research teams, and assist faculty in developing innovative science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs. Prior to working in research development, he served as the Deputy Director of the National Program Office at Rutgers for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s prestigious Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research program. Over his career Dr. Gallo has been the Director of grant programs at Rutgers University and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and has served as the Executive Director of the Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism at the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Dr. Gallo received a B.A. in Communication from Rutgers University, an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University.
