We collaborate with diverse partners from government, industry, non-profits, and Indigenous communities to create a future where both people and nature thrive.** **Since 1991, Alberta Ecotrust has mobilized resources, delivered innovative programs, and supported impactful projects that protect and restore natural ecosystems, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and build community resilience.** **Alberta Ecotrust is a founding member of the Low Carbon Cities Canada network, a national initiative accelerating equitable climate solutions in cities.** **Our Focus Areas** With every project and partnership we undertake, we focus on these three core focus areas. 1. **Nature-Based Solutions and Conservation** Alberta leverages the power of nature to address societal challenges, while simultaneously benefiting both human well-being and biodiversity. Alberta Ecotrust supports projects and initiatives that create scalable nature-based solutions, including Indigenous-led efforts and Indigenous-led conservation. 2. **Climate Resilience and Emissions Reductions** Alberta will be carbon neutral by mid-century, and communities will be prepared for the impacts of a changing climate. Alberta Ecotrust supports and scales up climate mitigation and adaptation projects and initiatives. 3. **Circular Economy** Alberta has a circular economy that preserves the value of energy, labour and materials. Alberta Ecotrust supports projects and initiatives that add value, reuse and promote durability, remanufacturing, and recycling to keep products, components and materials circulating in the economy.
