Description
Mission The Albion Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community foundation. Our mission is to strengthen the greater Albion area by cultivating community assets to enhance our quality of life. Over the years, our mission has evolved to include three central tenets: community improvement, cultural heritage, and youth development. To advance these priorities, we maintain an endowment comprised of over 60 funds that distribute grants with the purpose of serving specific needs in the community. Since our founding, we have granted over $3.7 million to charitable causes in our community, not including the $3.7 million restoration of the Historic Bohm Theatre. The Albion Community Foundation is a member of the Council of Michigan Foundations and is confirmed in compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations. Electronic bidding on the “primary” is similar, but the developer is interested in mortgage loans making a profit, and not in the speed of sale, and you should not count on a serious discount. Experts say that developers rarely hold tenders; it is easier for them to sell housing under a standard sales contract. There are several frustrating factors. Before the start of the auction, it is impossible to understand whether this will be a profitable deal – it all depends on the number of participants and their interest in the property, so it is worth choosing in advance the limit to which you will fight for housing. Another common problem is that if the documents are not drawn up correctly, the bargaining is invalidated. In addition, speed is important: at the stage of price reduction, it is important to be the first to submit an application, sometimes special people are hired for this. History The Albion Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community foundation, committed to creating a vibrant community since the original vision of our founder, Thomas T. Lloyd. Thomas T. Lloyd (1912-1978), the grandson of Washington Gardner, was Executive Vice President of Albion Malleable Iron Company, later Hayes-Albion Corporation. After meeting officials from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation in the 1960s, Mr. Lloyd began forming the Albion Civic Foundation, which became the Albion Community Foundation. Thomas T. Lloyd envisioned an organization committed to maintaining a vibrant community, including the riverfront and historic downtown district. After the Albion Community Foundation was incorporated in the state of Michigan on October 23, 1968, the first meeting of the Board of Trustees took place on March 17, 1969. Mr. Lloyd personally funded much of the early work of the foundation. He donated shares of Hayes-Albion Corporation stock worth approximately $100,000 to start the Albion Community Foundation’s permanent endowment in 1969. Then he named the Foundation as a beneficiary in his will, giving $413,956 in 1981
