Alzheimer's Disease Program

Alzheimer's disease is a major public health issue in the United States. An estimated 5.7 million Americans of all ages are living with Alzheimer’s disease in 2018. This includes an estimated 5.5 million people age 65 and older and approximately 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset Alzheimer’s. In Texas, 380,000 people age 65 and older have Alzheimer’s. Unless a cure or prevention is found, the number of Americans age 65 and older with Alzheimer's may triple to a projected 13.8 million people by 2050. We try to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and address the burden it places on individuals living with the disease. In addition, we also provide resources and information to caregivers statewide.
