Founded in 1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a scientific association serving thousands of professional members around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS) and supporting technologies. The ASPRS Code of Ethics Board of Directors The ASPRS Board of Directors consists of four officers: President President-Elect Vice-President and Past President; the National Directors of the Association’s seventeen geographic regions; the Directors of the Association’s five professional divisions; and the Chair of the Sustaining Members Council. Sustaining Members Council The Sustaining Members Council provides important communication and coordination with and among the sustaining members of the Society. Committees Committees are an integral component of a professional-scientific society such as ASPRS and serve as important sources of advice for the officers and directors. Regions ASPRS is divided into a number of regions based upon geographic area. Each region has its own activities including conferences speakers scholarships and awards.
