Description
Founded in 1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a scientific association serving thousands of professional members around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS) and supporting technologies.
**Regions**
ASPRS has 13 regions to serve the United States and one At Large region. Get involved in your local region to learn network and excel. ASPRS Regions often hold events that are focused on regional interests.

The Student Advisory Council (SAC) was introduced at the 2006 Annual conference in Reno, Nevada. Through SAC, students have an opportunity to voice their opinions and discuss ways the Society can serve them best.

The Technical Division Directors Council (TDDC) is responsible for communication of, and providing a forum for, the discussion and resolution of issues of concern to all Technical Divisions and the Society. Membership of the TDDC includes all Technical Division Directors and Assistant Directors.
