**Vision** A world free of tropical infectious diseases. **Mission Statement:** The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, founded in 1903, is the largest international scientific organization of experts dedicated to reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improving global health. We accomplish this through generating and sharing scientific evidence, informing health policies and practices, fostering career development, recognizing excellence, and advocating for investment in tropical medicine/global health research. Specific ASTMH goals include: - Advancing research in tropical diseases - Supporting career development in tropical medicine/global health - Fostering international scientific collaboration - Educating medical professionals, policymakers and the public about tropical medicine/global health - Recognizing exceptional achievement in tropical medicine/global health - Promoting science-based policy regarding tropical medicine/global health **ASTMH Values and Promotes Diversity** The Society takes great pride in its diverse membership.
