**Our Mission** We are committed to serving and honoring Veterans, Service Members and their families by ensuring they receive the highest quality services so they can thrive for a lifetime. Arizona Veterans, service members and their families will have no barriers to benefits and services they have earned. ****What We Do**** The Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services provides direct services to Veterans, service members and their families through a number of state and federally funded programs and initiatives including: - Veteran Benefits Counselors to help Veterans connect with their VA benefits •Four skilled-nursing Veterans homes in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma to provide long and short-term care - Three Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemeteries in Bellemont, Marana and Sierra Vista. - Financial Assistance programs with the Veterans’ Donation Fund and Military Family Relief Fund - Education and Tuition Assistance Services provided by the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services were instrumental in connecting Arizona’s over 500,000 Veterans with almost $400 million in compensation, pension, educational and medical benefits, and grants from the [United States Department of Veterans Affairs](https://www.va.gov/). With each passing year, we strive to serve more Veterans better. ADVS also provides resources through community partnerships with Arizona organizations committed to serving Veterans. This includes coordinating services across public and private sectors to serve targeted populations including Veterans experiencing homelessness. While ADVS works closely with our counterparts at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), it is important to note that we are not the same department.
