Description
The Army Geospatial Center organized as a major subordinate center under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 2009 to support ground operations with the dissemination of terrain data. The AGC collects, analyzes, manages, and delivers geospatial data and products, provides acquisition support, and develops innovative solutions to solve the toughest geospatial challenges. The staff works within these program areas in support of this mission: - Data Collection - Analysis - Visualization - Dissemination - Governance The AGC leads the development and integration of the Army Geospatial Enterprise; lends Geospatial Intelligence expertise to develop and field tools for location data gathering; and provides geospatial products, data, and training for an array of military operations. *Terrain* - AGC is involved in design, development, and deployment of systems for terrain reasoning and management; terrain data collections, analysis, distribution of 2D and 3D terrain visualization research, services, global positioning, and portable terrain. *Imagery* - AGC employs technologies for the collection, use, storage, and distribution of aerial and satellite imagery and sensor data from electro-optical, hyperspectral, LIDAR, and other geo-sensors from the open and unclassified to the highly secured environments. *Acquisition Support* - AGC coordinates the design, development, fielding, and home station support of terrain, navigational, imagery, and geospatial standards for command & control systems.
