**Equine Welfare**
From the start, the ASPCA has put horses at the heart of what we do.
Today we’re aimed squarely at improving equine welfare through three priorities:
[Helping horses find homes](https://www.aspcapro.org/equine-welfare/helping-horses-find-homes) by popularizing horse adoption, [keeping horses safe](https://www.aspcapro.org/equine-welfare/keeping-horses-safe) by establishing safety net programs and developing Equine Support Centers that provide horse owners with options for their equines, and [preparing for and responding to cruelty and disasters](https://www.aspcapro.org/equine-welfare/combating-equine-cruelty-responding-disasters) that put horses in harm’s way.
