Description
Our History 1954 to Now The Billings Arts Association began in 1954 with artists, actors, writers, musicians, and 'interested observers'. Founders were members of the Montana Institute of Arts and included many legendary artists such as Isabelle Johnson, Ben Steele, Ted Waddell, and Donna Forbes. One of the early projects of the organization was to organize and fund a drive to make an art center of what was once a county jail. That is now the Yellowstone Art Museum. So we are proud of the Associations contributions to the community, and one thing I am most passionate about is giving back to the community, through collaboration, support, and financial giving. What is the BAA Today Today, we are a community of visual artists and art enthusiasts supporting each other and their community in their creativity. Since it's origins, the Association has focused on visual art and art enthusiasts. Our membership includes painters, sculptors, weavers, textile artists, sketchers, photographers, fabric artists. We welcome visual artists of every discipline, and every skill level. Everyone who joins, regardless of their level of experience, enriches our organization.
