Our name honors the boreal forest, an ecosystem known for its resilience, diversity, and deep-rooted connection. For over 40 years, we’ve been committed to this work—originally as the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation. In 2025, we became Boreal Waters to better reflect the full reach of our region and the growing impact of our mission. Connection Flows We see our work as part of a living system.
