**Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS)** The Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS) works to improve the safety, quality, and value of healthcare through research; tools and other resources; implementation and practice improvement; and measurement and data analysis, in collaboration with public and private partners. CQuIPS is led by Director [Craig Umscheid, M.D., M.S.](https://www.ahrq.gov/cpi/centers/cquips/umscheid-bio.html), and Deputy Director Erin Grace, M.H.A. The Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQuIPS): - Conducts and supports **research** on safety, quality, and value in healthcare, responding to the needs of patients, families, and the broader healthcare community. - Develops and disseminates **tools**, data, and other resources to support healthcare safety, quality, and value. - Collaborates with stakeholders across the healthcare community to implement **evidence-based practices** in support of healthcare safety, quality, and value. - **Measures** and **assesses** healthcare safety, quality, and value to support continuous learning and improvement. CQuIPS is one of three research centers at AHRQ.
