Description
The mission of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment is to promote community-based substance use disorder treatment, and recovery support services for individuals and families in every community. CSAT provides national leadership to improve access, reduce barriers, and promote high-quality, life-saving, and effective treatment and recovery support services. The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT): - Works to close the gap between available treatment capacity and demand - Supports the adaptation and adoption of evidence-based and best practices by community-based treatment programs and services - Improves and strengthens substance abuse treatment organizations and systems CSAT's work supports: - States and community-based groups to improve and expand existing substance abuse treatment services under the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant Program - SAMHSA's free treatment referral service that connects people with substance abuse services in their community
