Description
The Center for the Study of the American South is a hub for interdisciplinary research, publication, and teaching on the US South. It is home to *Southern Cultures*, the Southern Oral History Program, Southern Futures, and CES at Carolina.
In 1992, the UNC Board of Governors established the Center for the Study of the American South to confirm Carolina’s long-standing commitment to its own region.
A home for interdisciplinary research, creativity, and collaboration, CSAS is committed to critical inquiry about the past, present, and futures of the US South, connecting campus and its communities through publications, fellowships, programming, and partnerships. Housed in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences, the Center calls the historic Love House home.
