**Our Mission** The Center’s mission to advance the application of data science in New York State includes several strategic objectives: **To bolster businesses in New York State** The Center supports basic research, technology, product, and service innovation, manufacturing efficiency, process improvement, and other key businesses activities. **Address the growing workforce demand for data scientists** The Center helps to increase the pool of well-trained data scientists by providing undergraduate and graduate students with experiential learning opportunities in partnership with industry. **Promote collaboration among academia and industry** The Center encourages public/private data science initiatives involving industry and faculty from the Goergen Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Rochester and other New York State institutions with the goal of creating economic impact based on collaborative research in data science. **Support government programs** The Center supports the development and execution of public policies and programs to improve the health and welfare of New York State residents.
