Welcome from the Department of Art and Design The Department of Art and Design at MTSU is a vibrant community of passionate artists, designers, educators, and historians who are committed to fostering a culture of learning and creativity. Our distinguished faculty comprises practicing artists who are deeply invested in nurturing the growth and success of their students. Our Building is a Resource for Artistic Innovation Our state-of-the-art facilities provide an ideal environment for students to create a diverse range of artwork, from the tangible to the abstract. With small class sizes and a dedication to student research and civic engagement, our faculty-student relationships are strengthened, leading to a more personalized and enriching learning experience. Our Degrees are Competitive and Forward-thinking Our Art and Design program is NASAD accredited, and we offer a range of undergraduate degrees, including a B.F.A. in Studio or Graphic Design, a B.S./B.A. in Visual Arts and Art History, and a B.S. in Art Education. We equip our students with the tools, skills, and knowledge necessary to succeed in the constantly evolving creative industry.
