About Us
The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County is a resource for local charitable giving. Created by and for the people of San Luis Obispo County, The Community Foundation is an enduring source of charitable funds to meet the changing needs and interests of the region.
Since 1998, The Community Foundation has supported our county with grants and scholarships totaling more than $60 million. The Foundation’s charitable assets under management have grown to $70 million to provide support to all areas of our community in perpetuity.
We are here to help with any of your charitable goals.
**History**
In 1998 an inspirational group of pioneers had a vision that recognized the power of philanthropy to enhance the future of our community. A group of leaders developed the partnerships necessary to form what is now known as The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County.
Today, the mission and vision of The Community Foundation continues as strong as ever; a group of community leaders from throughout the county serve on The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors helping sustain the legacy of our Founders and providing direction for our future. The Foundation’s nearly $60 million in charitable assets is used to ensure funding of grants, scholarships and many other programs. We are proud to recognize and thank the members who were the founding force behind the legacy that is now The Community Foundation.
