The U.S. National Science Foundation Division of Research, Innovation, Synergies, and Education (RISE) fosters connections among scientific discoveries, societal needs and education for the geoscience community. **What we support** RISE supports transdisciplinary collaborations that engage the broader community to drive transformative discoveries, translational research, innovations in workforce development and use-inspired solutions for urgent Earth system challenges. **Core incubators** RISE is organized by themes, or incubators, that focus on investment areas across the Directorate for Geosciences (GEO).
