European Heritage Hub

**A knowledge and advocacy hub for Europe's cultural heritage** The European Heritage Hub was launched in May 2023 as a Pilot Project led by Europa Nostra with a consortium of 21 partners. Since September 2025, it continues as a Preparatory Action, now with 28 partners across Europe, to further develop a permanent and autonomous heritage Hub at the European level. The project brings together a large array of heritage stakeholders and initiatives, responding to the need for a more structured cooperation and coordination at all levels of governance, from local to European and international. **Empowering Europe's heritage movement: bridging sustainability, innovation and inclusivity** Using the triple transformation (green, digital and social) as the overarching theme for all its activities, the Hub boosts the capacity for action and advocacy of the European heritage sector to support its transition towards a more sustainable, innovative and inclusive future. The project builds on the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage, the European Year of Youth 2022, and the European Year of Skills 2023. Aligned with evolving EU priorities, including the [Culture Compass for Europe](https://culture.ec.europa.eu/policies/culture-compass) and the [Joint Declaration "Europe for Culture - Culture for Europe,"](https://data.consilium.europa.eu/doc/document/ST-9202-2026-INIT/en/pdf) the Hub represents a strategic illustration of the role of cultural heritage in fostering a cohesive, sustainable, and democratic Europe. As it evolves into a permanent, inclusive platform, it unites diverse heritage stakeholders, supports collaboration with EU institutions, strengthens stakeholder dialogue, and acts in its capacity as a recognised tool to implement the Culture Compass, positioning cultural heritage at the heart of the European project. **Our work** The European Heritage Hub strengthens Europe's cultural heritage ecosystem through a combination of knowledge sharing, networking, capacity building, policy engagement and communication. Its digital platform facilitates access to heritage knowledge via a [Heritage Library](https://www.europeanheritagehub.eu/heritage-library/) of publications, studies, methodologies and tools, complemented by a [Policy Monitor](https://www.europeanheritagehub.eu/policy-monitor/) that tracks heritage-related policies across Europe. The Hub fosters collaboration among heritage stakeholders at local, regional, national and European levels through flagship activities such as the European Heritage **Hub Forums**, its **Heritage Dialogues** series and the [*In Varietate Concordia* Talks](https://www.europeanheritagehub.eu/in-varietate-concordia/talks/). It also reinforces cooperation and dialogue at local level and with communities, with established **City Hubs** in Kraków, Athens, Lisbon and Nicosia, and upcoming ones in Belgrade, Kyiv and Yerevan. Training and capacity-building activities reinforces peer learning, co-creation and the exchange of good practices, with particular attention to local communities and young people. Initiatives include **Peer-Learning Visits**, **Intergenerational Climate Conversations at European Heritage Label Sites**, **Youth Heritage Days** and a **Youth Summer Camp.** The Hub advocates for stronger recognition of cultural heritage across EU policies and funding programmes by producing evidence-based research, supporting policy dialogue and collaborating with the **European Heritage Alliance** and European institutions. The Hub has expanded cooperation across Europe, with a special focus on the Western Balkans, the Caucasus, Ukraine and Moldova, strengthening partnerships, capacity building and regional dialogue. Comprehensive communication and outreach - including social media, a dedicated [newsletter](https://my.sendinblue.com/users/subscribe/js_id/37kq9/id/1), media engagement and **awareness-raising campaigns** - highlight cultural heritage as a driver of sustainability, innovation, resilience and social cohesion.
