Faculty of Forestry

The Faculty of Forestry is situated at the UBC Point Grey campus on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the x?m??k??y??m (Musqueam First Nation). We are a global leader in forestry and natural resource research and studies. Our academic programs are interdisciplinary integrating natural and social sciences with courses taught by leading scientists and preeminent instructors who utilize cutting-edge technologies, and provide hands-on training in the class, lab and field. Your education at UBC Forestry is second-to-none. The Faculty of Forestry is a research hub where ground-breaking research is conducted and innovative products are developed to further advance the field of natural resource science, management and engineering. No other forestry institution in Canada receives as high a level of research funding. Our two Research Forests (the Malcolm Knapp Research Forest near Maple Ridge and the Alex Fraser Research Forest near Williams Lake), along with our Forest Sciences Centre, and Centre for Advanced Wood Processing, are state-of-the-art and unique facilities which sets us apart. UBC Forestry is a member of the Association of University Forestry Schools of Canada.
