**About the foundation** The Fat Beehive Foundation is an independent UK grant-making charity that supports small charities to improve their digital presence. We know that great digital communications can be transformative – but they’re often out of reach for smaller organisations with limited budgets. That’s where we come in. The Foundation provides small grants to UK charities with an annual turnover under £1 million, helping them build better websites and digital tools to amplify their message, connect with users and drive impact. The Fat Beehive Foundation is an independent charity distinct from [Fat Beehive Ltd](https://www.fatbeehive.com/). Fat Beehive Ltd provides operational support in terms of administration and office costs and provides the majority of funds for the grants. However, any donations by Fat Beehive Ltd to the Foundation do not carry obligations as to how the Foundation operates and where the money should be spent. These decisions are taken solely by the trustees of the Foundation. **Rooted in digital for good** The Foundation was established in August 2020 by the team at Fat Beehive, a digital agency that’s been building websites for charities and nonprofits since 1997. Today, Fat Beehive works with over 80 incredible organisations, including [UNICEF](https://www.unicef.ie/), [We the Curious](https://www.wethecurious.org/), [Dravet Syndrome UK](https://www.dravet.org.uk/), [National Aids Trust](https://nat.org.uk/), and [The Children and Young People’s Cancer Charity (formerly CCLG)](https://www.cclg.org.uk/). Setting up the Foundation was a staff decision as they wanted Fat Beehive to share its knowledge and give back to smaller charities doing vital work, but without the digital budgets of bigger players. The staff remain engaged with the Foundation’s work by providing a list of causes they would like to support to the trustees each year.
