**FWW: Improving women’s health through research and education** The Foundation for Women’s Wellness (FWW) is a 501c3 nonprofit public charity dedicated to improving women’s health through research and education. FWW identifies and supports research on leading women’s health concerns including female cancers, cardiovascular disease, hormone-related diseases and stage-of-life health issues (such as pregnancy and menopause), diseases disproportionately affecting women, and elucidation of sex differences in health and disease. Our [research awards](https://thefww.org/research-awards/ "Research Awards") provide critical funding to timely, innovative investigations. FWW also supports future physician-scientists through [fellowship awards](https://thefww.org/fellowship-awards/ "Fellowship Awards") to individuals from diverse backgrounds with high academic and research achievement and dedication. FWW consults with experts to identify research with promise for big impact. Our awardees work has provided important findings with direct implications for women’s care. Their work has gone on to be published, presented, and funded by larger sources, demonstrating the impact smaller awards have on new medical know-how. FWW was founded in 1997 by Dr. Lila Nachtigall MD, an internationally recognized leader in women’s health. FWW intentionally maintains a small infrastructure to enable optimal funding to research and education.
