About Foundation Management Services Foundation Management Services was established in 1994 by Janet Narten to provide shared services to private charitable foundations in Cleveland. Our clients are a diverse group of private funders, each with unique histories, philosophies and operating styles, that all share a common interest in improving the community through effective charitable giving. Our staff manages all of our clients’ administrative and grant making activities, which means clients can focus their limited time together on grantmaking interests and not on administrative matters or staff supervision. Because we serve more than one foundation client, we are knowledgeable on a broad range of nonprofit focus areas, are current with community initiatives, and participate in funding collaboratives. We work exclusively for our foundation clients and are not affiliated with any specific investment or financial institution. Clients retain complete autonomy.
