Global HIV and Tuberculosis

**Global HIV and TB Response** [HIV](https://www.cdc.gov/globalhivtb/who-we-are/about-us/globalhiv/globalhiv.html) and [tuberculosis (TB)](https://www.cdc.gov/globalhivtb/who-we-are/about-us/globaltb/globaltb.html) are the world’s two most deadly infectious diseases. Additionally, these two epidemics are tragically interconnected, as TB is the leading cause of death for those living with HIV. CDC’s Division of Global HIV TB, through the [U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief](https://www.pepfar.gov/), is tackling these two epidemics to produce the greatest impact. Our experts are [working on the front lines](https://www.cdc.gov/globalhivtb/images/videos/sme-video-widget.html) in more than 45 countries and regions around the globe, focused on a single mission: to fight these diseases and, ultimately, bring an end to the dual epidemics of HIV and TB worldwide.
