**Foundation Timeline** - **1993** - Foundation incorporates as 501c3 in California as Peter Gruber Foundation - **1995** - Foundation HQ moves to St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands and commences local giving to include: private school scholarships; Laws of Life Essay Contest in public schools; Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands; social services; arts - **2000** - International Prize Program commences with the Cosmology Prize - **2001** - In partnership with the International Astronomical Union, the Foundation awards first fellowship for young astronomers - **2001** - Genetics and Justice Prizes are added to International Prize Program - **2002** - Foundation, in conjunction with Globalvest Management (Peter Gruber’s business), pledges $500,000 to the Globalvest/Gruber Scholars Program at the Antilles School in St Thomas, United States Virgin Islands - **2003** - Women’s Rights Prize is added to International Prize Program - **2004** - Neuroscience Prize is added to International Prize Program - **2004** \- In conjunction with the American Society of Human Genetics and the Genetics Society of America, the Foundation awards the first Rosalind Franklin Young Investigator Award - **2005** \- In conjunction with the Society for Neuroscience, the Foundation awards the first Peter Gruber International Research Award in Neuroscience - **2007** - Foundation changes name to The Peter and Patricia Gruber Foundation, unveils a new logo and revamped website, and opens a branch office in New York City - **2011** - Patricia and Peter Gruber and Yale University President Richard C.
