Our Story ABOUT US Mission The Henrico Education Foundation strengthens schools by advancing impactful initiatives that improve student outcomes. Vision All schools are strong. All students are prepared. Our actions are based on our core values Students First Improving student outcomes is at the core of everything we do. As a part of that, we will advance initiatives that support the whole child. Engagement We will involve our school communities in identifying needs and creating solutions. Continuous Improvement We will use creativity and innovative thinking as we seek to improve our systems and processes. Accountability We commit to evaluating the impact of our work and to seeking ways to increase the return on the investment the community makes in our schools. Equity We seek equity and accessibility for our students and our colleagues. The Henrico Education Foundation (HEF) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit working in partnership with Henrico County Public Schools to serve nearly 50,000 students across 75 schools. We go beyond funding by fostering innovative programs that transform education and lead to student success. Our strong ties with Henrico schools and communities enable us to create impactful initiatives that address the opportunity gap and provide essential resources for teachers and vulnerable students. At HEF, we believe in the power of innovation and creativity to ignite educational advancement. Our vision extends beyond academic achievement to prepare every student for success in life. By equipping students with critical thinking, problem-solving skills, resilience, and adaptability, we ensure they are “LifeReady” for an ever-changing society.
