**Our Purpose** TIRF invests worldwide in individuals and organizations committed to English language education, empowering them to build a brighter future for themselves, those they serve, and our multilingual world. **Our Vision** TIRF seeks to create access and opportunities for individuals and communities in our multicultural world by advancing research on English language education and multilingualism. **Our Mission** TIRF promotes effective English language education in multilingual contexts through: Research Funding Scholarly Collaboration Professional Services Access to Resources The Foundation is organized to accomplish charitable, educational, scientific, and research goals relating to the teaching and learning of languages, including, but not limited to, the following: - To implement a research and development program that will generate new knowledge and inform and improve the quality of English language teaching and learning; - To promote the application of research to practical language problems; - To collect, organize, and disseminate information and research on the teaching and learning of languages; - To influence the formation and implementation of appropriate language education policies, recognizing the importance of indigenous languages and cultures worldwide, and of English as an international language; - To promote the professionalization of English language education by offering services such as program reviews, presentations, and professional development; and - To support early career scholars with their research in English language education. - To solicit, receive, hold, invest, administer, and distribute funds for the Foundation’s purposes.
