Federation is the PASSION OF COMMITMENT, where TZEDAKAH and a sense of SOCIAL JUSTICE can MAKE A DIFFERENCE in someone's life. OUR MISSION is to mobilize the Jewish Community to address issues, meet needs and build an agenda for the future. OUR VISION is to bring Jewish people together into a community coalition, grounded in Jewish teaching and heritage, to strengthen the State of Israel, the Global Jewish Family and Local Organizations in order to further the survival of the Jewish people. Our Goals - Foster identification with our Jewish teaching and heritage to inspire an informed and involved community. - Build an agenda for the future with clearly defined priorities. - Take responsibility for raising funds which meet mutually agreed upon goals. - Allocate and manage the community's resources based upon the community agenda. - Provide a structure for the Jewish community to interact with the non-Jewish community. - Develop Jewish leadership. Every day, Jewish Federation of Delaware supports programs that feed, clothe, shelter, counsel and rescue thousands of people here in Delaware and the Brandywine Valley, in Israel and around the world. We provide opportunities to educate, inspire and celebrate a vibrant Jewish life. It's our responsibility. It's our privilege. It's who we are. Federation is the heart and soul of North American Jewry's philanthropic and humanitarian activities. It embodies a 3,500-year-old tradition of caring that goes back to the giving of the Torah and sustains us in the bold pursuit of Jewish community, Jewish values and Jewish peoplehood. Federation builds and strengthens Jewish community; from our hometown to our homeland, from the homebound to the homeless, from elderly Jews in Russia to North American teens discovering their birthright in Israel.
