Lafayette Life Foundation

The Lafayette Life Foundation was established in June 2005 as a result of the merger between Cincinnati-based Western & Southern Financial Group (Western & Southern) and The Lafayette Life Insurance Company. Throughout the merger process, Western & Southern recognized Lafayette Life's long history as a leading corporate citizen in the Greater Lafayette, Indiana, community. Its priority was to ensure that the company continued to serve the community it had called home for more than 100 years with a substantial level of dedicated charitable dollars. This kind of endeavor was and remains very important. Both organizations share a culture of outstanding corporate citizenship and associate involvement in the communities where their associates work, live and play. This culture has always been central to both organizations' operating principles. Additionally, with the headquarters of The Lafayette Life Insurance Company now located in Cincinnati, it is even more important for the Lafayette Life Foundation to fulfill its mission in Greater Lafayette by continuing the company's legacy in its original hometown. While the administrative aspect of the Foundation is located in Cincinnati, the decision-making remains focused upon Lafayette with a majority of Lafayette Life's grant dollars given to organizations in the Greater Lafayette area.
