Description
Changing what’s possible for South Carolina—and the world. Founded in 1824 in Charleston, MUSC is the state's only comprehensive academic health system, with a unique mission to preserve and optimize human life in South Carolina through education, research and patient care. Each year, MUSC educates more than 3,200 students in six colleges – Dental Medicine, Graduate Studies, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy – and trains more than 900 residents and fellows in its health system. Our Story Collaborating across patient care, research and education, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a powerful and innovative network that works together to deliver the highest level of care, improving health outcomes in South Carolina. Changing what’s possible takes all of us. At MUSC, we are as bold as we are compassionate – and we refuse to compromise on something as important as your health. We are on an ambitious journey to drive innovation, unlock human potential and ensure that breakthrough care includes endless caring. We serve every county in South Carolina, and our work fuels new thinking and solutions that better our communities and the world. This is a challenge that is bigger than any of us as individuals, but not bigger than all of us working together. This is why we work collectively and collaboratively. Our research is a catalyst that sparks academic excellence and turns students into caregivers who deliver breakthrough treatments. Research, education and patient care are all intertwined at MUSC and by moving forward as one, we can amplify our impact. It means that no one fights disease alone; every child has healthy options; innovations lead to treatments; theories become practice; and healthy patients lead to healthier communities.
