National Association of Black Journalists - Visual Task Force

**Our Primary Goals** - Develop educational programs and career development resources for visual journalists. - Provide opportunities for mentorship, training and development of visual journalists. - Create a venue for collegial fellowship, exchange ideas and share experiences. - Promote diversity in newsrooms. - Reinforce journalistic ethics keeping integrity in mind. - Embrace new technology and find ways to use it keeping with journalistic standards. **Initiatives over the years** - Organize the photography and visual arts auction, proceeds of which go toward the NABJ and VTF scholarship funds. - Host diverse educational workshops, along with critiques and mentoring sessions at the annual NABJ convention. - The Moneta J. Sleet Jr. photo competition and judging. - Host the gala VTF reception honoring members, photo competition winners, students and educators. - Provide support for visual journalism interns, mentoring programs, professional workshops and collegial bonding among visual journalists throughout the year.
