Description
The American Cattlemen’s Foundation was first organized in 1972 with the stated purpose of providing “Charitable, scientific and educational activities to benefit the cattle industry.” The foundation was later renamed the National Cattlemen’s Foundation (NCF).
The first major project of NCF was the collection of funds for a new National Cattlemen’s Association (NCA) headquarters building, started in 1980 and completed in 1982. The building was later sold when the association outgrew the building following the merger of NCA with the Beef Industry Council of the National Live Stock and Meat Board to form the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
In 1998, the NFC played a critical role in the planning and execution of the 100-year celebration of NCBA and its predecessor organizations. This included overseeing the writing and printing of Building the Beef Industry the beef industry history book.
NCF also has a Legacy Brand Wall located in the Denver NCBA Headquarters. Cattle producers can proudly display their brand by making a donation to the Foundation.
NCF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible and will support the mission and programs of the Foundation. Individuals, corporations and foundations are encouraged to contribute to the National Cattlemen's Foundation.
