Nationwide Foundation

The Nationwide Foundation, established in 1959, is a nonprofit, private foundation to which Nationwide companies are the donors. **The Nationwide Foundation’s mission** To improve the quality of life in communities in which a large number of Nationwide members, associates, partners and their families live and work. **Our giving history** Since 2000, the Nationwide Foundation has contributed more than $700 million to nonprofit organizations across the country that work to meet crucial needs in communities with a significant presence of Nationwide associates. In 2006, the foundation pledged the largest gift in its history, granting $50 million to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Over the last eight years, the foundation gifted the hospital with an additional $100 million in grants to establish and support the Nationwide Foundation Pediatric Innovation Fund. The Nationwide Foundation also helps maximize the impact of personal gifts by matching, dollar for dollar, associate contributions through our Nationwide Cares Campaign, our Associates Helping Associates program and gifts to accredited higher-education institutions.
