Description
****Naval Air Systems Command**** Established in 1966 as the successor to the Navy’s Bureau of Naval Weapons, the **Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)** is headquartered in Patuxent River, Md., with military and civilian personnel stationed at eight locations across the continental United States and one site overseas. **Our Mission** Deliver integrated air warfare capabilities to enable the fleet to compete, deter and win – tonight, tomorrow and in the future **Our Priorities** **DELIVER INTEGRATED WARFIGHTING CAPABILITY** Providing the warfighter with air warfare capabilities to fight and win in every domain is our unequivocal focus. Our dedication and commitment to deliver advanced, integrated capabilities has a single objective – equipping our warfighters for victory. **DEVELOP OUR WORKFORCE** Our professionalism is rooted in our ability to deliver what we promise. We will be experts in EVERY aspect of our programs to enable on-time delivery of required capabilities that are dominant, affordable and available. We will invest the time to lead, mentor, educate, grow and inspire our diverse workforce to perform at the highest levels while also achieving their professional and personal goals. **STRENGTHEN PARTNERSHIPS** We will build and expand our partnerships. We rely on the talent, dedication and commitment of our combined government and industry workforce to deliver advanced, interoperable capabilities to cross-service, cross nation and combined forces. **Our Focus Areas** **SPEED** Our adversaries are outpacing us and we must deliver critical capabilities to enable a more powerful fleet in 2025, not 2045. We will acquire, test, install and field capability at the speed of relevance—not at the speed of the acquisition process. We will find ways to go faster, push the envelope, execute with acceptable risk and challenge all assumptions. **AFFORDABILITY** Fiscally constrained budgets are a reality within which we must successfully execute. We will be good stewards of taxpayer money and find ways to deliver the required capability affordably. We must understand where every dollar is being spent and continuously look for should-cost opportunities across the entire acquisition life cycle. **AVAILABILITY** We will be focused on fleet priorities and ensure the fleet has the warfighting capabilities available to employ and win tonight. We will align on our efforts and focus on outcomes that lead to improved readiness and availability - today, tomorrow and into the future. **OUTCOMES** Our focus is on outcomes that matter to the fleet. As a learning organization, we will leverage best in class tools, processes and lessons learned. We will be focused on results and will hold ourselves accountable for our performance to plan. We will continually evaluate our progress and adjust course in order to deliver expected outcomes. **Our Core Values** **START WITH THE FLEET** Focus on outcomes that matter to the Warfighter. **CHANGE THE GAME** Be bold. Challenge assumptions. Innovate, learn and improve. **WIN WITH INCLUSION AND RESPECT** Treat your teammates with dignity and respect?**always**. Support your teammates.
