**About the NAF** **Netherland-America Foundation (naf)** The Netherland-America Foundation (NAF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening the ties between the Netherlands and the United States. Through our educational, cultural and business programs, we support the exchange of knowledge, talent,and opportunities across both nations. **Our History** Founded in 1921 by, among others, Franklin D. Roosevelt—later U.S. president—and Thomas J. Watson, founder of IBM, the Netherland-America Foundation (NAF) has long fostered transatlantic connections to strengthen mutual understanding between the Netherlands and the United States. Under the patronage of Princess Margriet of the Netherlands and her husband Professor Pieter van Vollenhoven, the NAF has empowered thousands to explore new horizons through educational, cultural, and business exchange. Based in New York City as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Foundation operates seven additional chapters across the United States and one in the Netherlands. **Accomplishments** - The NAF granted nearly $2 million to **270+ interns** since we launched **internship grants** in 2013 - Over 550 **fellowships** granted since 1990 - Over $1 million distributed in **study loans** in the past decade - Awarded $700,000+ in **grants** in the past decade to **artists and cultural institutions** $1,000,000+ IN STUDY LOANS 550+ FELLOWSHIPS $2,000,000 IN INTERNSHIP GRANTS **OUR MISSION** The NAF is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening the bonds between the Netherlands and the United States.
