North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities

**Our Mission** The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) works with others to help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families get the services and supports they need to live independently, make choices, and be part of their community. The Council listens to the I/DD community through its five-year planning process and supports projects that meet the goals of the [Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act)](https://www.acl.gov/node/106 "Opens in a new tab"). **Our Council** NCCDD’s work is driven by its 40-member Council appointed by the Governor, including: - People with intellectual or other developmental disabilities - Parent/Family member/Guardian - Representatives of State agencies - State legislators - Representatives from Disability Rights NC and the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities - Provider and Local Management Entities/Managed Care Organization (LME-MCO) representatives
