North Fork Women

ABOUT NORTH FORK WOMEN Membership is free and open to any self-identified lesbian who resides on a full-time, part-time, or seasonal basis in the geographical area from Riverhead Township to Orient Point and Shelter Island. Members must register for our mailing list and, if they are able, are encouraged to make financial contributions, join committees, volunteer time, and participate in or attend sponsored events. OUR MISSION North Fork Women is an organization that is committed to health advocacy and education. We develop activities and programs that foster the social and community life of lesbians on the North Fork of Long Island, New York. North Fork Women provides healthcare grants and offers financial assistance and personal support to lesbians on the North Fork of Long Island, New York who are facing emergency health situations: difficulties caused by aging, illness, disability, or disruptions of physical or mental well-being, and those with inadequate or no health insurance. The North Fork Women For Women Fund, Inc., dba North Fork Women is a 501(c)(3) community-based not-for-profit organization of volunteers founded in 1992.
