Description
The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program offers grants and education to farmers, educators, service providers, researchers and others to address key issues affecting the sustainability of agriculture throughout our region. The program serves Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The program is administered by Northeast SARE's host institution, the University of Vermont **A National Sustainable Agriculture Program** Northeast SARE is one of four regional SARE programs funded by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture. The program is authorized under Subtitle B of Title XVI of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990. SARE serves all states and Island Protectorates. SARE's Nationwide mission is to advance, to the whole of American agriculture, innovations that improve profitability, stewardship, and quality of life by investing in groundbreaking research and education. There is no sustainable agriculture without a just foundation. Honoring the dignity and value of all people, plants, animals, other organisms, and our environment go hand in hand in advancing the sustainability of our region’s agriculture and food systems.
