Office of Emergency Management

NNSA's emergency management mission combines the efforts of multiple program offices across the Nuclear Security Enterprise in a unified structure to ensure world-class response capabilities for all-hazards events and continuity operations. NNSA and the Department of Energy (DOE) are a conduit for several unique, mandated emergency management and continuity capabilities. These capabilities are highlighted within the Office of Emergency Management (NA-40) through their performance of the following roles and responsibilities: manage the Headquarters Emergency Operations Center; assure information management and operational awareness; execute continuity and mission resilience; construct emergency management policy and preparedness; provide DOE/NNSA lab, plant, and site support; track and report on readiness assurance; lead tests, training, and exercises; and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
