Description
**About OHIMA**
The Ohio Health Information Management Association (OHIMA) is the non-profit association of health information (HI) professionals in Ohio. OHIMA is a component state association affiliated with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) which represents professionals who work with health data for more than one billion patient visits each year.
AHIMA and OHIMA’s mission of empowering people to impact health drives our members and credentialed HI professionals to ensure health information is accurate, complete, and available to patients and providers. Our leaders work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and business, and are found in data integrity and information privacy job functions worldwide.
OHIMA and the professionals we serve work to ensure that tomorrow’s healthcare will be even more connected, more accurate, more innovative, and more extraordinary than ever before.
**Who HI Professionals Are**
AHIMA-certified Health Information (HI) Professionals keep health information human. As leaders at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and business, we possess a uniquely comprehensive view of a resource that is critical to meaningful health innovation. The accuracy, protection, and accessibility of health information remains our priority as the definition of healthcare continues to evolve. By ensuring that the person in front of the data is always considered, and remains connected to their information at every touchpoint, we empower our partners in both traditional and emerging health spaces to make effective – and often lifesaving – decisions. Health information credentials serve as a mark of confidence for the organizations we steer and the patients we serve, proving our expertise in an ever-transforming space.
