Sam Viersen Family Foundation

ABOUT US The Sam Viersen Family Foundation was established in 1987 by Oklahoma oilman and philanthropist Sam K. Viersen, Jr. Inspired by the example of his parents, Sam and Aleene Viersen, Mr. Viersen created the foundation to continue their shared commitment to giving back to the community. Today, the foundation is led by a board composed of family members and close associates dedicated to carrying forward this legacy of impactful charitable giving. The foundation supports nonreligious, nonprofit organizations that serve communities in northeast Oklahoma, with a primary focus on Okmulgee and Tulsa Counties. Funding priorities include: · Basic human needs, such as food, shelter, and foundational education · Programs that help individuals achieve greater independence and self-sufficiency · Cultural initiatives that provide access to enriching experiences for those who might otherwise go without Grant awards typically range from $1,000 to $500,000 per year, depending on the scope and impact of the project.
