San Angelo Area Foundation

**Mission ** Our mission is to build a legacy of philanthropy by attracting and prudently managing endowed gifts in order to match donor interests with community needs of the area. **Vision ** We exist to make philanthropic giving in San Angelo and the surrounding area easier and efficient. **History** The San Angelo Area Foundation was established in 2002 by a $1 million dollar grant from the San Angelo Health Foundation. While the Health Foundation is a private foundation, the San Angelo Area Foundation is a community foundation whose mission is to improve quality of life in the San Angelo area by assisting philanthropic individuals aggregate funds to benefit the area. The Foundation has received more than $286 million in contributions since inception and have created more than 445 funds. Over $150 millon has been awarded in grants and the Foundation has over $200 million in assets, all supporting a wide array of causes in San Angelo and the surrounding area.
