Science in Human Culture

ABOUT Science in Human Culture (SHC) is a unique interdisciplinary program within Northwestern University that seeks to make sense of crucial changes over time in science, technology, medicine, and the environment. SHC provides students and faculty alike an opportunity to bridge the worlds of scientific expertise and culture and develop the critical tools needed to understand the effects of these systems around the world. With a robust community of undergraduate adjunct majors and minors, graduate cluster fellows, rotating postdoctoral fellows and award-winning faculty affiliates, the SHC program sponsors a popular speaker series and conference program. Science in Human Culture has earned a well-deserved reputation both within Northwestern and beyond for fostering meaningful conversations at the intersection of the humanities and sciences.
