Sioux Empire United Way

**Sioux Empire United Way's mission is to lead, sustain and nurture a unified, effective response to community needs.** We support children, vulnerable adults, and people in crisis in the four county area of Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha and Turner. Sioux Empire United Way serves an estimated 1 out of every 3 individuals each year in our community. Since 1929, Sioux Empire United Way has evolved alongside the changing needs of our community. What began as a campaign raising $42,000 for seven agencies during the Great Depression has grown into a collaborative network investing millions of dollars each year in local programs and services. Over the decades, Sioux Empire United Way has adapted to meet emerging challenges—from supporting war relief efforts and expanding access to childcare, to investing in youth, early childhood education, senior services, mental health, housing, and food security. Through each generation, our mission has remained the same: bringing people together to improve lives and strengthen our community. As our community continues to grow and change, Sioux Empire United Way remains committed to identifying local needs, investing in lasting solutions, and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive—today and for generations to come.
