Somerville Arts Council

The mission of the Somerville Arts Council is to cultivate and celebrate the creative expressions of the Somerville community. Through innovative collaborations and quality programming we work to make the arts an integral part of life reflective of our diverse city. The strength of the Council and it's work lies within the community. We are able to work with wide range of community members from artists to local historians, from MIT PhDs to self taught wizards. The Council sees the diversity of the community as its wealth and strives to remain flexible in looking out for changing cultural and artistic expressions. In 2008 we actually placed this praxis into a visioning document. Reflecting the Council's adaptive role in producing work that is current and reflective of life today in Somerville while also honoring it's past. Check out that vision document below.
