The mission of The Lane and Elizabeth C. Dwinell Charitable Trust is to strengthen the community and support positive social change in the State of New Hampshire. The late Honorable Lane Dwinell and his wife, Elizabeth Cushman, lived in Lebanon, New Hampshire for more than 60 years. Over the course of their lifetime, both Lane and Elizabeth were extremely involved in civic and charitable endeavors in Lebanon and in other parts of the State of New Hampshire. Lane and Elizabeth created this charitable trust to continue their philanthropic interests. In addition to a very successful career as President of the Carter and Churchill Company (Profile Ski Wear), Lane Dwinell was very active in State and Federal politics and served as Governor of New Hampshire from 1954 to 1958. Elizabeth Dwinell was also a strong supporter of political efforts at both the state and local level. She worked as a reporter for the Granite State Free Press and was a leading actress with the Dartmouth Players. Mrs. Dwinell was a member of the Lebanon Women’s Club, the New Hampshire Society of Colonial Dames of America and the Daughters of Colonial Wars.
