**26Ten supports Tasmanians to lift adult literacy and numeracy skills ** 26Ten unites business, community and government in a statewide effort to raise adult literacy and numeracy levels. Our name comes from the 26 letters of the alphabet, and the ten digits we use for counting. Since 2012, 26Ten has been Australia’s only statewide, comprehensive and long-term response to lifting adult literacy and numeracy. It has tri-partisan political support. **26Ten’s strategy** In June 2026, we released our new strategy to help Tasmanian adults improve their reading, writing and everyday maths. Our vision is for Tasmanian adults to have the literacy skills they need for work, education, family and community life. The new strategy builds on the success and learnings of the previous 10 years and has three goals: - Tasmanians know about adult literacy - Tasmanian adults can get help with literacy - Tasmanian communities have the skills and literacy resources needed to help adults.
